Fun, relaxation and a sense of well being
We aim to provide all our guests, wherever they are from, and whatever their age, with great food, drink and hospitality the whole year round.
In the heart of St. Moritz, our restaurant offers an excellent range of specialties such as homemade sweets and the finest patisserie from our own confectionery. We are eager to create a relaxed atmosphere for our guests at all times and to ensure that their stay is a comfortable one. Our hotel is a friendly place, where we aim to fulfil even the smallest needs of our guests in our own unique way.
People and their personal needs are at the heart of all our endeavours; this applies both to our guests and our employees. Happy employees make for happy guests.
We are open and fair in our management style; compassion and tolerance are key. We place great emphasis on personal fulfilment, mutual respect, flexibility, and empathy.
We create an atmosphere for our employees in which they are encouraged to contribute their own ideas and can take on responsibility.
As a 3* hotel/restaurant/confectionery in the holiday destination of Engadin/St. Moritz we accept our responsibility toward the environment.
Tourism and life in the mountains are based on an intact natural environment. Our visitors expect to find clean water and pure air. We consider it important that these benefits are preserved and protected. We want to do our part by informing and raising awareness among our guests, employees, suppliers and partners.
Our environmental policy governs the environmental protection applied throughout our operation while at the same time being aligned with national and cantonal legislation, regulations and requirements.
We undertake:
Some of our actions:
Paper
Our paper consumption is relatively high but we try to drastically reduce this with targeted measures such as double-sided printing, on-screen checking and an increase in paperless archiving. Furthermore, we endeavour to convert our paper usage to FSC paper (this also applies to our brochures etc.).
Waste
Our waste is strictly separated. The company Power vom Bauer generates electricity from our kitchen waste. Cardboard is another major component of our waste. We endeavour, through collective and regional purchasing, the use of reusable packaging, and the further processing of cardboard (e.g. for shipping products from our chocolate shop), to either reduce our cardboard usage or to continue to use it as much as possible.
Energy
Much of our water heating is done through heat recovery. The heat recovery system is powered by the exhaust air from the kitchen and bakery, and the waste heat from the refrigeration units. We have also taken a big step toward energy savings by converting our lamps to LED lights in our hotel rooms and restaurant.
To complement this, the radiant heaters on our terrace run on locally-produced St. Moritz solar power.
We aim to reduce our energy consumption further with relevant environmental policies and operational measures.
